New Growth, Solo Exhibition
September 27, 2024 – December 8, 2024

The Center for Contemporary Art

“New Growth builds upon the themes first introduced in Angela Pilgrim’s debut solo exhibition, Rooted in Spirit. This show features a blend of existing works and new pieces, deepening her examination of identity, resilience, and faith through a multilayered approach to printmaking, painting, and mixed media. Pilgrim’s work highlights the ongoing process of personal and communal growth, revealing how past experiences and cultural roots influence our paths of self-discovery. By introducing new works alongside familiar ones, she invites viewers to explore fresh perspectives on these recurring themes. The exhibition celebrates the evolving nature of both her practice and the stories of those she portrays—individuals who, though diverse in background, are united in their journeys of becoming. New Growth fosters reflection on how we continue to grow while remaining rooted in our core selves.”
