About the Instructors:

Angela Pilgrim

Angela Pilgrim is a multidisciplinary printmaker and visual artist.  She creates prints that aim to challenge external assumptions and rebuild internal narratives of beauty and self-perception. Her vibrant images invite critical thinking around culture, gender and visibility. As an experienced screen printer, she also facilitates printmaking workshops focused on building creative confidence through hands-on techniques. She brings an intuitive, process-driven approach to teaching printmaking that encourages artistic experimentation. Pilgrim’s workshops are centered around community engagement while learning a range of fundamental printmaking skills. Angela Pilgrim currently resides and works in New Jersey.

Alverson Layne

As a multi-disciplinary artist, Alverson integrates music, film, and visual art to emphasize messages of faith. As a classically trained flautist, music is often at the core of his artistic practice. He began formally practicing visual arts after participating in the International Baccalaureate Arts program during High School. In recent years, Alverson has expanded more into the visual arts, creating work that combines pop art, motion graphics and typography text. His pieces often depict biblical narratives or explore spiritual themes. He then brings the visual and musical arts together through video-editing. Alverson intends to continue to develop his work into proper film media with original scores and engaging stories. The merging of music, image, and motion serves a greater purpose - to engage with communities of faith in new ways. A person's relationship with the divine is expressed through many "languages," and art is one of them. He aims to create thought-provoking, immersive experiences that inspire audiences to contemplate humanity’s relationship with its Creator.
